Reflection Mini Expo

Today we had a mini expo! It was SO fun! My group was the Tornado group. I already knew a lot about tornadoes so it was easy. A lot of people came to my group. Some other groups were cool too! But some people seem like they just wanted prizes.It was fun to see other creative ideas from different groups. Some groups just kept reading the information on their posters and not answering my questions. Others had cool dioramas. My group had posters, dioramas, movies, and a slide show. We had parts of presenting our disaster. My parents also came they just knew some information on tornadoes!A lot of people liked it. Oh and if you ever have a mini expo good luck.

Reflection Guest Speaker Aceh

One day two teachers from Aceh came to talk about tsunamis and earthquakes. Aceh get tsunamis and earthquakes so they were pro's on this stuff. They told us what causes a tsunami. What happens is the piece of ground below the water makes an earthquake only in the water which causes BIG waves to go on land. That is a tsunami. After they showed us pictures of the school in Aceh and videos of Aceh tsunamis that have happened. I learned so munch from them.

JJS Reflection

One day a Japanese school came to my school. We were going to show them a dance called the poco-poco. I was nervous and excited. Then...YEAH they are finally here. Wow! There was a lot of them! First we performed the poco-poco. Then we were put into groups. 2 of us and 3 of them. We taught them how to do the dance. It was hard to teach them because they weren't from a international school they only spoke Japanese!! So, they seemed quite confused so we had to speak with body motions. After teaching them we tried it all together. Then we had break we shared our food during break. They brought some delicious food. We gathered in the P.V.A.C again. This time we showed them wayang. After that they taught us kanji. It was a bit hard because we wrote Japanese!! Then the Japanese had to go but I had a lot of fun!!!!

Guest Speakers Natural Disaster

Today Guest Speakers came they talked to us about Natural Disasters. They talked about these natural disasters Earthquake, Tornadoes,Tsunami,Volcanoes,Flood,Landslide and Bushfire. They showed us a video.The video was funny. Then we had break time. When we got back the guest speakers showed us what to do when an earthquake occurs. What you have to do is... When you feel an earthquake or hear an earthquake alarm then go under a table or chair then grab the char/table leg and wait for further instructions. After they showed us how to put out a fire. If a bushfire happens. We went outside since they used real fire. It was so cool but VERY dangerous. Then we went to Primary Plaza. There they showed us a table that can move. Up and down. The table had a village with a volcano,trees,mountains,Ocean,and a river. They showed us one by one of the natural disasters that can happen. The I liked the most was the volcano. I had a fun day today!!
